About the project

The Prague Post Archive is administered by Modrá sova z.s., a nonprofit English-language library and learning centre in the Czech Republic.

The Prague Post was the country's longest-running English-language weekly, published in print from October 1991 to July 2013 and then continuing online until 2016.

Our aim is to preserve this invaluable record of the country's transformation and to make the surviving newspaper issues accessible to historians and researchers, to original readers who wish to look back on events they witnessed firsthand, as well as to new readers who are curious to learn about the period.

The digitization project is ongoing. We are scanning and processing issues as funds become available. Issues are put up on the website week by week, as they were published exactly 35 years ago, starting 1 October 1991. As the project progresses, larger numbers of issues will go up on the website in batches.

For now, enjoy browsing the earliest pages of The Prague Post online!
If you'd like to support the project, you'll find a link to our GoFundMe campaign at the top of this page.
